Kadai Paneer
Kadai Paneer is a popular Indian dish made with paneer (Indian cottage cheese), bell peppers, and a flavorful blend of spices.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Salt - To taste
- Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Kadai masala - 2 teaspoons
- Green chili - 1, slit
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1-inch piece, grated
- Tomato - 2 medium, pureed
- Onion - 1 large, finely chopped
- Capsicum (bell pepper) - 1 large, diced
- Paneer - 250 grams, cubed
Let's Get Started
- Heat oil in a kadai or pan over medium heat.
- Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add grated ginger, minced garlic, and slit green chili. Sauté for a minute.
- Add the pureed tomatoes and cook until the oil separates.
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and kadai masala. Mix well.
- Add diced bell peppers and cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly tender.
- Add cubed paneer and gently mix to coat it with the masala.
- Cover the kadai and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or roti.
