Jhalfrezi
Chicken Jalfrezi is a flavorful and spicy Indian dish made with chicken, bell peppers, onions, and a blend of aromatic spices.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Fresh coriander leaves - For garnish
- Cooking oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - To taste
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Green chilies - 2, chopped
- Ginger - 1-inch piece, grated
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Tomatoes - 2, chopped
- Bell peppers - 2, thinly sliced
- Onion - 1 large, thinly sliced
- Chicken breast - 500 grams, boneless and cut into cubes
Let's Get Started
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onions and cook until golden brown.
- Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green chilies. Sauté for a minute.
- Add the chicken cubes and cook until they are no longer pink.
- Add the sliced bell peppers and chopped tomatoes. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Cover the pan and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the flavors are well combined.
- Sprinkle garam masala and mix well.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with rice or naan bread.
