Jerk Tempeh
Spicy, flavorful, and packed with protein, this Jerk Tempeh recipe is a vegan twist on the classic Jamaican dish.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Lime juice - Juice of 1 lime
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Green bell pepper - 1, sliced
- Red bell pepper - 1, sliced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1, finely chopped
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Jerk seasoning - 2 tablespoons
- Tempeh - 8 ounces
Let's Get Started
- Cut the tempeh into thin slices and rub with the jerk seasoning. Set aside to marinate for at least 10 minutes.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the bell peppers to the skillet and cook until they begin to soften, about 5 minutes.
- Add the marinated tempeh to the skillet and cook until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes per side.
- Drizzle the soy sauce and lime juice over the tempeh and vegetables. Stir to combine and cook for another 2-3 minutes, until everything is heated through.
- Serve the jerk tempeh with rice or your favorite side dish.
