Jeon
Jeon is a traditional Korean pancake made with various ingredients and served as a side dish or appetizer.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Soy sauce - For dipping
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Shrimp - 8, peeled and deveined
- Green onions - 4, chopped
- Zucchini - 1, thinly sliced
- Egg - 1
- Water - 1 cup
- All-purpose flour - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, water, egg, and salt. Mix well until smooth.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.
- Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the skillet and spread it evenly to form a thin pancake.
- Arrange a few slices of zucchini, green onions, and shrimp on top of the pancake.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the bottom is golden brown.
- Flip the pancake and cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the other side is golden brown and the shrimp is cooked through.
- Repeat the process with the remaining batter and ingredients.
- Cut the pancakes into bite-sized pieces and serve with soy sauce for dipping.
