Ingredients - Serves 10

Let's Get Started

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in the warm water. Let sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour and baking powder. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
  4. While the dough is rising, make the filling. In a bowl, combine the ground pork, soy sauce, sesame oil, green onions, and ginger. Mix well.
  5. After the dough has risen, punch it down and divide into 10 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and flatten with a rolling pin.
  6. Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each dough circle. Gather the edges to seal the bun.
  7. Place the buns on a piece of parchment paper in a steamer. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
  8. Steam the buns over high heat for 15 minutes, until puffed and cooked through.
