Italian Sausage and Peppers Sandwich
A hearty sandwich filled with flavorful Italian sausage and sautéed bell peppers.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Provolone cheese - 8 slices
- Hoagie rolls - 4
- Italian seasoning - 1 teaspoon
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 large, sliced
- Bell peppers - 2, sliced
- Italian sausage - 4 links
Let's Get Started
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sausages and cook until browned on all sides, about 10 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the bell peppers, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook until the vegetables are soft, about 10 minutes.
- Slice the sausages and return them to the skillet. Stir to combine with the vegetables.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Split the hoagie rolls and fill with the sausage and pepper mixture. Top with the provolone cheese.
- Bake for 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
