Israeli Date Coffee
Israeli date coffee is a sweet and aromatic beverage made with dates, coffee, and spices.
Ingredients - Serves 2
- Sugar - 2 teaspoons (optional)
- Cardamom - 1/4 teaspoon
- Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
- Ground coffee - 2 tablespoons
- Water - 2 cups
- Dates - 6, pitted
Let's Get Started
- In a small saucepan, combine the dates and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, or until the dates are soft.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Transfer the date mixture to a blender and blend until smooth.
- Return the mixture to the saucepan and add the ground coffee, cinnamon, and cardamom.
- Bring to a simmer over low heat and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and let steep for 2 minutes.
- Strain the coffee mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into serving cups.
- Add sugar to taste, if desired.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
