Let's Get Started

  1. Soak the bulgur wheat in warm water for 30 minutes, then drain.
  2. In a pan, cook the ground beef, onions, and garlic until the beef is browned and the onions are soft.
  3. Add the parsley, cumin, salt, and pepper to the beef mixture and stir well.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the soaked bulgur wheat and egg. Mix until a dough forms.
  5. Take a small amount of the bulgur dough and flatten it in your hand. Place a spoonful of the beef mixture in the center and fold the dough over to enclose the filling. Shape it into a ball or oval. Repeat with the remaining dough and filling.
  6. Dust the koftes with flour.
  7. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot. Fry the koftes until golden brown.
  8. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
