Hungarian Cabbage Noodles
This Hungarian dish combines tender cabbage and egg noodles for a comforting and flavorful meal.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Sour cream - 1/2 cup
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Paprika - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Bacon - 4 slices, chopped
- Onion - 1 medium, chopped
- Cabbage - 1 small head, shredded
- Egg noodles - 8 ounces
Let's Get Started
- Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside, leaving the bacon grease in the skillet.
- Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and shredded cabbage to the skillet. Cook until the cabbage is tender, about 10 minutes.
- Stir in the cooked egg noodles, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, until heated through.
- Remove from heat and stir in the sour cream.
- Serve the Hungarian cabbage noodles topped with the crispy bacon and chopped fresh parsley.
