  2. In a separate bowl, mix the water and cornstarch until the cornstarch is dissolved.
  3. Pour the cornstarch mixture into the sauce and whisk until well combined.
  4. Transfer the sauce to a small saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool before using.
