Gluten Free Baguettes

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. In a small bowl, combine the warm water and sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Sprinkle the yeast over the water and let it sit for 5 minutes, or until it's frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the gluten-free flour blend, xanthan gum, and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture, egg whites, and apple cider vinegar to the flour mixture. Stir until the dough comes together.
  4. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until it's doubled in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). If you have a baking stone, place it in the oven to preheat as well.
  6. Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a long, thin baguette.
  7. Place the baguettes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. If you're using a baking stone, transfer the parchment paper directly onto the stone.
  8. Bake the baguettes for 25 minutes, or until they're golden brown and crispy.
  9. Let the baguettes cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
