Gluten Free White Bread
A delicious, fluffy, and easy-to-make gluten-free white bread perfect for sandwiches or toast.
Ingredients - Serves 12
- Apple cider vinegar - 1 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil - 1/4 cup
- Egg - 1, beaten
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Xanthan gum - 1 teaspoon
- Gluten-free all-purpose flour - 3 cups
- Active dry yeast - 1 packet
- White sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Warm water - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- In a small bowl, dissolve sugar in warm water. Sprinkle yeast over the top, and let stand for about 10 minutes, until foamy.
- In a large bowl, combine the gluten-free flour, xanthan gum, and salt. Create a well in the middle and pour in the yeast mixture, egg, oil, and vinegar. Stir until well combined.
- Pour the dough into a greased loaf pan and smooth the top with a wet spatula. Cover with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until the dough has risen to the top of the pan.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the loaf sounds hollow when tapped.
