Ingredients - Serves 6

Let's Get Started

  1. Wash the black-eyed beans thoroughly and place in a pot with water. Cook until soft and tender.
  2. Drain the cooked beans and blend to a smooth paste using a blender or food processor.
  3. In a separate pot, heat the palm oil over medium heat.
  4. Add the chopped onions and sauté until translucent.
  5. Add the chopped pepper and sauté for another 2 minutes.
  6. Add the blended beans to the pot and stir well to combine with the palm oil, onions, and pepper.
  7. Add the crayfish, stockfish, dry fish, seasoning cubes, and salt. Stir well.
  8. Pour in the water and bring the soup to a boil.
  9. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  10. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
  11. Serve hot with your choice of Nigerian dishes, such as pounded yam, eba, or rice.
