Fried Idli
Fried idli is a delicious and crispy South Indian snack made from leftover idlis.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - To taste
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Green chili - 1, finely chopped
- Onion - 1, finely chopped
- Curry leaves - 10 leaves
- Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Leftover idlis - 8
Let's Get Started
- Cut the leftover idlis into bite-sized pieces.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
- Add curry leaves, chopped onion, and green chili. Sauté until the onion turns translucent.
- Add turmeric powder and salt. Mix well.
- Add the idli pieces and toss gently to coat them with the spices.
- Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the idlis turn crispy and golden brown.
- Drizzle lemon juice over the fried idlis and mix well.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve hot as a snack or appetizer.
