  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add the vegetable oil and mix with your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Gradually add the warm water, stirring until a loose dough forms.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes.
  5. Divide the dough into 10 equal pieces and roll each piece into a ball.
  6. Cover the dough balls with a clean kitchen towel and let rest for 15 minutes.
  7. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  8. Roll each dough ball out into a thin circle, about 8 inches in diameter.
  9. Cook each tortilla in the hot skillet until it starts to bubble and brown spots appear, about 1 minute per side.
  10. Keep the cooked tortillas warm by wrapping them in a clean kitchen towel until ready to serve.
