Fish Moilee
Fish Moilee is a delicious South Indian fish curry made with coconut milk and aromatic spices.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Fresh coriander leaves - For garnish
- Coconut oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - To taste
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Black pepper powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Curry leaves - 10 leaves
- Green chilies - 2, slit
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Onion - 1 large, finely chopped
- Coconut milk - 1 cup
- Fish fillets - 500 grams
Let's Get Started
- Heat coconut oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add chopped onions, grated ginger, minced garlic, slit green chilies, and curry leaves. Saute until onions turn golden brown.
- Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and black pepper powder. Mix well and cook for a minute.
- Add coconut milk and bring it to a gentle simmer.
- Add fish fillets and cook for about 10-12 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through.
- Add lemon juice and season with salt to taste.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with steamed rice or appam.
