Fish Amritsari
Fish Amritsari is a popular street food and restaurant style starter fried Fish. Fish slices are marinated with spices, deep fried and served with a squeeze of lemon juice.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Oil - For deep frying
- Salt - To taste
- Rice flour - 1 tablespoon
- Gram flour (besan) - 2 tablespoons
- Carom seeds (ajwain) - 1/2 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
- Ginger paste - 1 tablespoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Fish fillets - 500 grams
Let's Get Started
- Clean and wash the fish fillets. Pat them dry.
- Marinate the fish with lemon juice, ginger paste, garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, carom seeds, and salt. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes.
- Add gram flour and rice flour to the fish and mix well.
- Heat oil in a pan for deep frying.
- Drop the fish slices in the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy.
- Drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
- Serve hot with a squeeze of lemon juice.
