Faloodeh
Faloodeh is a refreshing Persian dessert made with thin vermicelli noodles, rose water, and a sweet syrup.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Saffron strands - A pinch
- Pistachios - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
- Sugar - 1/2 cup
- Rose water - 2 tablespoons
- Water - 4 cups
- Vermicelli noodles - 100g
Let's Get Started
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil.
- Add the vermicelli noodles and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until al dente.
- Drain the noodles and rinse them under cold water to cool them down.
- In a separate saucepan, combine sugar and water. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes to make a syrup.
- Remove the syrup from heat and stir in rose water and lime juice.
- Place the cooked vermicelli noodles in a serving dish and pour the syrup over them.
- Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until chilled.
- Before serving, garnish with chopped pistachios and saffron strands.
