Dutch Stamppot
Dutch stamppot is a traditional Dutch dish made with mashed potatoes and vegetables, typically served with smoked sausage.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Mustard - 2 tablespoons
- Pepper - To taste
- Salt - To taste
- Milk - 1/2 cup
- Butter - 4 tablespoons
- Smoked sausage - 4 links
- Kale - 500g, chopped
- Potatoes - 1.5 kg, peeled and diced
Let's Get Started
- Boil the potatoes in a large pot of salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- In a separate pot, boil the kale in salted water until wilted, about 5 minutes. Drain well.
- In a frying pan, cook the smoked sausage according to package instructions.
- Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash them with a potato masher or fork.
- Add the butter and milk to the mashed potatoes and mix well.
- Stir in the cooked kale and season with salt, pepper, and mustard.
- Slice the smoked sausage and serve it on top of the stamppot.
