Double Ka Meetha
Double Ka Meetha is a popular Indian dessert, made with bread, milk, sugar and dry fruits. It's a Hyderabadi version of the famous Shahi Tukda.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Saffron strands - A few
- Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Raisins - 10
- Almonds - 10
- Cashews - 10
- Ghee - 1/2 cup
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Milk - 1 litre
- Bread slices - 6
Let's Get Started
- Heat ghee in a pan and fry the bread slices until golden brown.
- In another pan, boil the milk and add sugar, cardamom powder and saffron strands.
- Once the sugar is dissolved, add the fried bread slices to the milk and let it simmer for a few minutes.
- In the meantime, fry the dry fruits in a little ghee and add them to the milk and bread mixture.
- Let it cook for a few more minutes until the milk is reduced and the bread slices have absorbed the milk.
- Serve the Double Ka Meetha hot, garnished with some more fried dry fruits.
