Dal Tadka

Ingredients - Serves 4
- Coriander leaves - for garnish
- Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Green chili - 1, chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Ghee - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - to taste
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Water - 3 cups
- Red lentils - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- Rinse the lentils thoroughly and add them to a pot with water, turmeric, and salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer until the lentils are soft, about 20 minutes.
- In a separate pan, heat the ghee over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and let them sizzle.
- Add the minced garlic and chopped green chili to the pan and sauté until the garlic is golden.
- Stir in the red chili powder.
- Pour the tempered spices over the cooked lentils and stir well.
- Garnish with coriander leaves before serving. Enjoy your Dal Tadka with rice or naan.
