Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Soak the lentils and kidney beans in water overnight.
  2. Drain the water and transfer the lentils and beans to a pressure cooker. Add 3 cups of water and cook for 15-20 minutes until they are soft.
  3. In a large pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and let them crackle.
  4. Add the onions and cook until they are golden brown. Then add the garlic and ginger and cook for another 2 minutes.
  5. Add the pureed tomatoes, garam masala, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are fully cooked and the oil starts to separate from the mixture.
  6. Add the cooked lentils and beans to the pan and mix well. Add water if necessary and let it simmer for 15 minutes.
  7. Stir in the cream and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  8. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or naan.
