Cubano Sandwiches
Cubano sandwiches, also known as Cuban sandwiches, are a delicious combination of roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard, all pressed between crispy bread.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Butter - 4 tablespoons
- Cuban bread or french baguette - 4 rolls, sliced lengthwise
- Mustard - 4 tablespoons
- Dill pickles - 8 slices
- Swiss cheese - 8 slices
- Ham - 8 slices
- Pork shoulder - 1 pound, roasted and thinly sliced
Let's Get Started
- Preheat a panini press or a large skillet over medium heat.
- Spread mustard on the bottom half of each roll.
- Layer the roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, and pickles on top of the mustard.
- Close the sandwiches with the top halves of the rolls.
- Spread butter on the outside of each sandwich.
- Place the sandwiches in the panini press or skillet and cook until the bread is crispy and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove from heat and let the sandwiches rest for a few minutes before serving.
- Slice the sandwiches in half diagonally and serve warm.
