Creamed Savoy Cabbage
This creamy and flavorful side dish features tender savoy cabbage cooked in a rich and creamy sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Parmesan cheese - 1/4 cup, grated
- Chicken broth - 1/2 cup
- Heavy cream - 1/2 cup
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Savoy cabbage - 1 head, shredded
Let's Get Started
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the shredded savoy cabbage to the skillet and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cover and cook for 10 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender.
- Stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley before serving.
