Com Tam
Com Tam is a popular Vietnamese dish made with broken rice, grilled meat, pickled vegetables, and fish sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Radish - 1, sliced
- Carrot - 1, julienned
- Cucumber - 1, sliced
- Lime juice - 2 tablespoons
- Sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Fish sauce - 1/4 cup
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Pork chops - 4 pieces
- Broken rice - 2 cups
Let's Get Started
- Cook the broken rice according to package instructions.
- Season the pork chops with minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Grill or pan-fry until cooked through.
- In a small bowl, mix together fish sauce, sugar, lime juice, and minced garlic to make the dressing.
- In a separate bowl, combine cucumber, carrot, radish, green onions, and cilantro. Toss with the dressing.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan and fry the broken rice until slightly crispy.
- Serve the grilled pork chops on a plate with a mound of broken rice and a side of pickled vegetables.
- Drizzle fish sauce over the rice and enjoy!
