  1. In a blender, add the grated coconut, green chilies, roasted chana dal, ginger, salt, and water. Blend until smooth.
  2. Transfer the chutney to a bowl.
  3. Heat oil in a small pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
  4. Add curry leaves and sauté for a few seconds.
  5. Pour this tempering over the chutney and mix well.
  6. Coconut chutney is ready to serve with idli, dosa, or vada.
