Cider Doughnuts
These delicious doughnuts are a fall favorite, made with apple cider and dusted with cinnamon sugar.
Ingredients - Serves 12
- Cinnamon sugar - For dusting
- Milk - 1/2 cup
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
- Baking soda - 1/2 teaspoon
- Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
- All-purpose flour - 2 cups
- Egg - 1 large
- Granulated sugar - 1/2 cup
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Apple cider - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- In a saucepan, reduce the apple cider over medium heat until it is reduced to 1/4 cup.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg, then stir in the reduced apple cider.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk.
- Cover and refrigerate the dough for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F and grease a doughnut pan.
- Fill the doughnut pan with the batter, then bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- While the doughnuts are still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar.
