Apple Cider Doughnuts
These homemade apple cider doughnuts are perfect for the fall season. They're sweet, fluffy, and full of apple flavor.
Ingredients - Serves 12
- Cinnamon sugar - For coating
- Vegetable oil - For frying
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Milk - 1/2 cup
- Nutmeg - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Baking soda - 1/2 teaspoon
- Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
- All-purpose flour - 2 cups
- Eggs - 2
- Butter - 2 tablespoons, melted
- Sugar - 3/4 cup
- Apple cider - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, combine the sugar, melted butter, and eggs.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the apple cider and milk. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F.
- On a floured surface, roll out the dough to a 1/2-inch thickness. Cut with a doughnut cutter.
- Fry the doughnuts, a few at a time, until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels.
- While still warm, coat the doughnuts in cinnamon sugar.
