Ingredients - Serves 4
- Cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Green onions - 2, thinly sliced
- Carrot - 1, julienned
- Cucumber - 1, thinly sliced
- Tortillas - 4
- Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Hoisin sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 1/4 cup
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Chinese five spice powder - 1 tablespoon
- Pork spare ribs - 1.5 lbs
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a small bowl, mix together the Chinese five spice powder, garlic powder, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and brown sugar to make the marinade.
- Place the spare ribs in a baking dish and pour the marinade over them, making sure they are well coated. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for best results.
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake the spare ribs for 45 minutes, or until they are tender and cooked through.
- Remove the spare ribs from the oven and let them cool slightly. Once cooled, shred the meat using a fork.
- Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave.
- To assemble the wraps, spread a spoonful of the shredded spare ribs onto each tortilla. Top with cucumber slices, carrot, green onions, and cilantro.
- Drizzle some additional hoisin sauce over the fillings.
- Roll up the tortillas tightly, tucking in the sides as you go.
- Serve the Chinese BBQ spare rib wraps immediately and enjoy!
