Chicken Tinola
Chicken Tinola is a Filipino ginger-based soup with chicken, green papaya, and chili leaves.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Pepper - To taste
- Salt - To taste
- Chili leaves - 2 cups
- Green papaya - 1 small, peeled and sliced
- Water - 6 cups
- Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Onion - 1 medium, chopped
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 2 inches, sliced
- Chicken - 1 whole, cut into serving pieces
Let's Get Started
- In a large pot, heat oil over medium heat.
- Saute ginger, garlic, and onion until fragrant.
- Add chicken pieces and cook until lightly browned.
- Pour in water and bring to a boil.
- Add fish sauce and season with salt and pepper.
- Simmer for 20 minutes or until chicken is tender.
- Add green papaya slices and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Stir in chili leaves and cook for 2 minutes.
- Adjust seasoning if needed.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
