Chicken Parma
Chicken Parma, also known as Chicken Parmigiana, is a hearty Italian dish made with breaded chicken cutlets, topped with tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Basil leaves - A handful, for garnish
- Parmesan cheese - 1/2 cup, grated
- Mozzarella cheese - 1 cup, shredded
- Tomato sauce - 2 cups
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Breadcrumbs - 1 cup
- Eggs - 2, beaten
- All-purpose flour - 1 cup
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Chicken breasts - 4, boneless and skinless
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then dredge them in flour, dip into the beaten eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 5 minutes per side.
- Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce in a baking dish. Place the chicken on top, then cover with the remaining sauce.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the chicken.
- Bake for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the chicken is cooked through.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
