Chicken Paprikash
A classic Hungarian dish made with chicken, paprika, and sour cream.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Egg noodles - 8 ounces
- Sour cream - 1/2 cup
- Chicken broth - 1 cup
- Flour - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 large, chopped
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Paprika - 2 tablespoons
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Chicken thighs - 4, bone-in, skin-on
Let's Get Started
- Season the chicken thighs with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken and cook until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes per side. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually stir in the chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and bring to a simmer. Cover and cook for 30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Stir the sour cream into the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until heated through.
- Serve the chicken and sauce over cooked egg noodles.
