Chicken Balti
Chicken Balti is a flavorful and aromatic curry dish made with tender chicken, spices, and tomatoes.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Salt - To taste
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Fresh cilantro - Handful, chopped
- Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
- Balti paste - 3 tablespoons
- Tomatoes - 2 medium, chopped
- Ginger - 1-inch piece, grated
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 large, finely chopped
- Chicken breast - 500 grams, boneless and skinless, cut into bite-sized pieces

- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and cook until golden brown, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Add the chicken pieces to the pan and cook until they are browned on all sides.
- Add the balti paste, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and garam masala. Stir well to coat the chicken.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and season with salt. Cook for 5 minutes, until the tomatoes are soft and pulpy.
- Cover the pan and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with naan bread or steamed rice.
