Chicago Style Pork Chop Sandwich
A hearty sandwich featuring a juicy, grilled pork chop, topped with sautéed onions and served on a fresh bun. A Chicago classic!
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Pickle slices - To taste
- Mustard - To taste
- Buns - 4
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onions - 2, thinly sliced
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Bone-in pork chops - 4
Let's Get Started
- Season the pork chops with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat the olive oil in a grill pan over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the onions and garlic and cook until softened and caramelized, about 10 minutes.
- While the onions are cooking, toast the buns in the oven or on the grill.
- To assemble the sandwiches, spread mustard on the bottom half of each bun. Top with a pork chop, followed by the sautéed onions and pickle slices. Cover with the top half of the bun.
- Serve the sandwiches hot, with extra pickles and mustard on the side.
