Let's Get Started

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt.
  2. Gradually add water to the flour and knead into a smooth dough.
  3. Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each portion into a thin circle.
  4. Heat a flat pan or tawa over medium heat.
  5. Place the rolled dough on the hot tawa and cook until it puffs up and brown spots appear on the bottom.
  6. Flip the chapati and cook the other side until brown spots appear.
  7. Brush the chapati with a little oil and remove from the tawa.
  8. Repeat with the remaining dough.
  9. Serve the chapati warm with curry or any dish of your choice.
