Cape Malay Samoosas

Ingredients - Serves 6

Let's Get Started

  1. Heat a large pan over medium heat and add the ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned and no longer pink.
  2. Add the onion, garlic, carrot, peas, curry powder, salt, and pepper to the pan. Cook for another 5-7 minutes, until the vegetables are softened.
  3. Remove the pan from the heat and let the filling cool.
  4. Take a samoosa wrapper and place a spoonful of the filling on one end. Fold the wrapper over the filling, forming a triangle. Continue folding the wrapper in a triangle shape until you reach the end. Seal the edge with a little water.
  5. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  6. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Fry the samoosas in batches for 2-3 minutes, until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  8. Serve the Cape Malay Samoosas hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
