Candied Yams
Sweet and sticky candied yams made with brown sugar, cinnamon, and a hint of orange zest.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Orange zest - 1 teaspoon
- Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Butter - 1/2 cup
- Brown sugar - 1 cup
- Yams - 6 medium, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes
Let's Get Started
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- Place the yams in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook until the yams are tender, about 10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a small saucepan, combine the brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, orange zest, and salt. Cook over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved, about 5 minutes.
- Pour the sugar mixture over the yams and toss to coat.
- Transfer the yams to a baking dish and bake for 20 minutes, or until the yams are caramelized and sticky.
