Ingredients - Serves 10

Let's Get Started

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Make a well in the center and add the egg, milk, and melted butter. Stir until a dough forms.
  2. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, until doubled in size.
  3. While the dough is rising, make the topping. In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, softened butter, egg yolk, and baking powder. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Divide the dough into 10 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball. Divide the topping into 10 equal pieces and flatten each piece into a disc. Place a disc of topping on each bun.
  5. Bake for about 20 minutes, until the buns are golden brown and the topping is crunchy. Let cool on a wire rack before serving.
