  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk and melted butter.
  3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. On a floured surface, knead the dough until smooth.
  5. Divide the dough into 20 pieces and roll each piece into a ball.
  6. Heat the oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F.
  7. Fry the dough balls, a few at a time, until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  8. In a saucepan, combine the brown sugar, cinnamon sticks, and guava with 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer until the sugar is dissolved.
  9. Pour the syrup over the buñuelos and let soak for a few minutes before serving.
