A succulent smoked ham glazed with a sweet and smoky bourbon sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 8
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Dijon mustard - 1/4 cup
- Honey - 1/2 cup
- Brown sugar - 1 cup
- Bourbon - 1 cup
- Smoked ham - 1 whole, about 8 pounds
Let's Get Started
- Preheat your smoker to 225°F.
- Place the ham in the smoker and cook for about 3 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 140°F.
- While the ham is smoking, make the bourbon glaze. Combine the bourbon, brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, garlic, and black pepper in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook until reduced by half, about 15 minutes.
- During the last 30 minutes of smoking, brush the ham with the bourbon glaze every 10 minutes.
- Remove the ham from the smoker and let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing.
- Serve the ham with the remaining bourbon glaze on the side.
