Boondi Ladoo
Boondi Ladoo is a popular Indian sweet made from gram flour, sugar, ghee and cardamom powder. It's often served during festivals and special occasions.
Ingredients - Serves 10
- Cashews - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Raisins - 1/4 cup
- Cardamom powder - 1 teaspoon
- Ghee - 1 cup
- Water - 1 cup
- Sugar - 1.5 cups
- Gram flour - 2 cups
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, mix the gram flour with water to make a smooth batter.
- Heat the ghee in a pan and drop the batter through a perforated spoon to form boondis. Fry until golden brown and remove with a slotted spoon.
- In another pan, make a sugar syrup by boiling the sugar and water together until it reaches a one-string consistency.
- Add the fried boondis, cardamom powder, raisins and cashews to the sugar syrup and mix well.
- Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then shape into round ladoos while the mixture is still warm.
- Let the ladoos cool completely before serving.
