Bok Choy and Tofu Bao Buns
These delicious bao buns are filled with sautéed bok choy and crispy tofu, making them a perfect vegetarian option.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Green onions - 2, sliced
- Bao buns - 8
- Hoisin sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Firm tofu - 1 block, diced
- Bok choy - 4 cups, chopped
Let's Get Started
- Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add tofu and cook until crispy and golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add garlic and ginger. Sauté for 1 minute.
- Add bok choy and cook until wilted, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add soy sauce and hoisin sauce to the skillet. Stir well to coat the bok choy.
- Return the crispy tofu to the skillet and toss to combine with the bok choy and sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Steam the bao buns according to package instructions.
- Fill each steamed bun with the bok choy and tofu mixture.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and chopped cilantro.
