  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion is translucent and the garlic is fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add the beef steak slices to the skillet and cook until browned on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  4. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

  6. Return the beef to the skillet and stir to coat it with the tomato mixture.
  7. Cover the skillet and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the beef is tender and cooked through.
  8. Sprinkle with chopped cilantro before serving.
  9. Serve the Bistec Ranchero with rice, beans, and tortillas for a complete meal.
