Bistec Ranchero is a delicious Mexican dish made with tender beef steak cooked in a flavorful tomato-based sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Jalapeno - 1, seeded and chopped
- Tomatoes - 4 medium, diced
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 medium, chopped
- Beef steak - 1 pound, thinly sliced
Let's Get Started
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion is translucent and the garlic is fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the beef steak slices to the skillet and cook until browned on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the diced tomatoes, chopped jalapeno, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for 5 minutes, or until the tomatoes are softened.
- Return the beef to the skillet and stir to coat it with the tomato mixture.
- Cover the skillet and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the beef is tender and cooked through.
- Sprinkle with chopped cilantro before serving.
- Serve the Bistec Ranchero with rice, beans, and tortillas for a complete meal.
