Bhindi Masala
Bhindi Masala is a flavorful Indian dish made with okra, onions, and spices.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Fresh coriander leaves - For garnish
- Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - To taste
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Green chili - 1, finely chopped
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1-inch piece, grated
- Tomato - 2 medium, finely chopped
- Onion - 1 large, finely chopped
- Okra - 500 grams, washed and chopped
Let's Get Started
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add ginger, garlic, and green chili. Sauté for a minute.
- Add tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and mushy.
- Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.
- Add chopped okra and mix until well coated with the spice mixture.
- Cover the pan and cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the okra is cooked and tender.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with roti or rice.
