BBQ Tempeh and Coleslaw Pizza
A unique and delicious vegan pizza featuring smoky BBQ tempeh and tangy coleslaw.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Apple cider vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Vegan mayonnaise - 1/4 cup
- Coleslaw mix - 2 cups
- Red onion - 1 small, thinly sliced
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Tempeh - 8 oz, sliced
- Bbq sauce - 1 cup
- Pizza dough - 1 lb
Let's Get Started
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the tempeh slices and cook until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes.
- Spread the BBQ sauce over the pizza dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
- Top the sauce with the cooked tempeh slices and sliced red onion.
- Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the toppings are hot.
- While the pizza is baking, make the coleslaw. In a large bowl, combine the coleslaw mix, vegan mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Toss well to combine.
- Once the pizza is done, let it cool for a few minutes before topping with the coleslaw. Slice and serve immediately.
