BBQ Brisket Sandwich
This BBQ brisket sandwich is packed with tender and flavorful smoked brisket, topped with tangy barbecue sauce and served on a soft bun.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Red onion - 1, thinly sliced
- Pickles - 4 slices
- Buns - 4
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic powder - 1 tablespoon
- Paprika - 1 tablespoon
- Brown sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Barbecue sauce - 1 cup
- Brisket - 2 pounds
Let's Get Started
- Preheat your smoker or grill to 225°F.
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to create a dry rub.
- Rub the dry rub all over the brisket, making sure to coat it evenly.
- Place the brisket on the smoker or grill and cook for 8 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F.
- Remove the brisket from the smoker or grill and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Slice the brisket against the grain into thin slices.
- In a saucepan, heat the barbecue sauce over low heat until warmed.
- Toast the buns on a grill or in a toaster.
- Spread barbecue sauce on the bottom half of each bun.
- Layer the sliced brisket on top of the sauce.
- Top with pickles and sliced red onion.
- Cover with the top half of the bun and serve.
