Batata Harra
Batata Harra is a delicious Lebanese dish made with crispy potatoes, garlic, chili peppers, and spices.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Salt - To taste
- Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Red chili pepper - 1, thinly sliced
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Olive oil - 3 tablespoons
- Potatoes - 4 medium-sized, diced
Let's Get Started
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the diced potatoes and cook until crispy and golden brown, stirring occasionally, for about 15 minutes.
- In a separate small skillet, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sliced chili pepper, and sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the paprika, cumin, and salt to the garlic and chili mixture, and stir well.
- Pour the garlic and chili mixture over the crispy potatoes in the large skillet, and toss to coat the potatoes evenly with the spices.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Remove from heat and transfer the Batata Harra to a serving dish.
- Sprinkle with fresh cilantro and drizzle with lemon juice.
- Serve hot as an appetizer or side dish.
