Basil Pesto Pasta
A simple and fresh pasta dish with a homemade basil pesto sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Pasta - 1 pound
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Olive oil - 1/2 cup
- Parmesan cheese - 1/2 cup, grated
- Pine nuts - 1/3 cup
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Basil leaves - 2 cups
Let's Get Started
- In a food processor, combine the basil, garlic, pine nuts, and Parmesan cheese. Pulse until finely chopped.
- With the food processor running, slowly add the olive oil until the pesto is smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
- Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain, reserving some of the pasta water.
- Toss the pasta with the pesto, adding some of the reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.
- Serve the pasta with extra Parmesan cheese on top.
