Ingredients - Serves 12

Let's Get Started

  1. Grease a square or rectangular pan with ghee and set aside.
  2. In a heavy-bottomed pan, heat the ghee over medium heat.
  3. Add the condensed milk and sugar to the pan and stir well.
  4. Cook the mixture on low heat, stirring continuously, until it thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan. This will take about 20-25 minutes.
  5. Add the cardamom powder and mix well.
  6. Remove the pan from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
  7. Pour the mixture into the greased pan and spread it evenly.
  8. Sprinkle the chopped almonds and pistachios on top and gently press them into the mixture.
  9. Allow the barfi to cool completely and set for a few hours or overnight.
  10. Once set, cut the barfi into square or diamond-shaped pieces.
  11. Garnish with silver leaf, if desired.
  12. Serve and enjoy!
