Bangladeshi Fish Curry

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Clean and wash the fish fillets. Marinate them with turmeric powder and salt. Set aside for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat mustard oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the fish fillets until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add more oil if needed. Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  4. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Cook for another minute.
  5. Add the chopped tomatoes, green chilies, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and the spices are well combined.
  6. Add a little water to form a thick gravy. Bring it to a simmer.
  7. Gently place the fried fish fillets into the gravy. Cover and cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and the flavors are well infused.
  8. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice or naan bread.
